Book Recommendation: "ORFEO — Richard Powers"

One of these books you start reading and after a few lines you already know this is something special. The way Richard Powers is constructing his lines, the words he is choosing, … you just want to to continue reading as the form is as exiting as the content.

The content: It is the story about Peter Els. A biochemist in his 70ies that used to study music prior to his scientific career. Both areas overlap and create an area of conflict. Hashtags: #dna #bioterrorism #relationships #press #artmusic.
And the music was the star for me. As the story develops it was the pure love for music that kept me going. I wanted to read about to all these songs that were defining the music today. All these milestones described in Powers beautiful words. Magic. Peter Els is trying to describe what he is hearing but he has more trouble to find the right words to do so. But Powers has the right words to let us read how Peter is feeling his musical stories.

I forced myself to not listen to every song while is was reading about them so i re-visted the book for a second time & then listend. Magic.
