Experience might be bad sometimes

You are experienced in something.

I just lost a big pitch against another agency. Why?

„We really liked them and they had no experience in that area. We thought that was refreshing.“

Fuck. We are over qualified.

What the f... is wrong with them?!

Two weeks later: „i could feel you have no experience in that topic, thank you for new ideas. We have the impression you might be able to unlock new audiences.“

Yeah. We are under qualified.

We won it.

Is being an expert sometimes a bad thing?

Does this give us the wrong ideas how things could work?
